HAQI and GYOB Projects Final Evaluations

31-page final evaluation on CARE Egypt’s governance program works to enhance good governance at the local and national level. Apart of the governance program, CARE implemented two projects: How to Access Quality Initiative (HAQI) and Get Youth on Board project (GYOB). HAGI adopted the rights based approach to access quality services while GYOB aims to empower youth to be part of decision making in local communities. Hayat Project Endline Survey

76-page report on end-line data on member households from a sample of 316 women in the five targeted communities of the project. The targeted villages are located in Menia governorate, managing the stages of data-entry, data-analysis and reporting the Hayat end-line survey and comparing the results of end line with the baseline survey (20 VSLA groups around 316 respondents) to measure the impact of the project regarding women’s empowerment. Strengthening Civil Society Participation in the Agricultural Sector in Egypt-SCPAE Project Evaluation

This 46-page study aims to evaluate the SCPAE project through explaining the following aspects: 1) Assessing the rationale of the SCPAE project; 2) Assessing the efficiency of the project in achieving the planned activities and results; 3) Assessing the impact of the project and identifying the unintended results achieved from the project; 4) Exploring the level of project sustainability and the possibility of scaling-up the project in the future; 5) Exploring the key challenges which the project faced or still faces. Girls’ Education and Leadership Evaluation Power to Lead Alliance & Innovation through Sport Final Report

45-page final evaluation on ITSPLEY project. In Egypt, along with the PTLA project, the Innovation through Sport: Promoting Leaders, Empowering Youth (ITSPLEY) project was jointly implemented through CARE’s Gender and Empowerment Unit. ITSPLEY is a pioneering initiative that uses the "convening power of sports" to minimize the effects of poverty and social injustice on marginalized youth, especially girls. ITSPLEY is being implemented in four countries; Bangladesh, Egypt, Kenya, and Tanzania. This United States Agency for International Development(USAID) funded, three-year project began in January 2009 and will conclude in February 2012. Its aim is to enhance the institutional capacity of local organizations working directly with youth, and to provide youth, especially girls, with opportunities to develop and practice leadership skills through sport-based activities. Empowerment of Egypt’s Children to Take Actions in Schools and Communities Midterm Evaluation

This is the 56-page report of the Mid-term Evaluation of the "Empowerment of Egypt's Children to take actions in Schools and Communities", funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented with co-fund from CARE Deutschland-Luxemburg in partnership with Save the Children UK (SCUK); the Jesuit Brothers Association (JBA); and the Youth Association for Environment and Development (YADE). According to the agreement with the EU, the project started in January 2011 and will last for 36 months. It is expected to get a no cost extension for six months to compensate the delay that took place at the beginning of the project due to the 25th of January Revolution events. Read More...
