Umodzi Project Baseline Survey Report
In 2016, CARE Malawi selected Centre for Development Management (CDM) as a research part for the UMODZI Project, which is implemented in Kasungu District. The UMODZI Project is a research project, whose aim is to test the effectiveness and scalability of a gender synchronized, transformational approach to accelerate and enhance the impact of integrated adolescent life skills and sexual reproductive health programming. The Umodzi project approach relies on the coordinated action of two existing initiatives to achieve the following outcomes:
o Adoption of gender-equitable attitudes and behaviours among adolescent boys and girls in primary school. o Improved health and development knowledge, attitudes, self-efficacy, and selfcare practices among adolescent boys and girls in primary school. o Enhanced inter-generational relationships between men and boys and women and girls that are supportive of adolescent gender and SRHR Read More...

Fonds Régionaux de Développement Agricole dans la région Anosy (FRDA) Point D’Avancement Semestriel
Le projet Fonds Régionaux de Développement Agricole dans la région Anosy (FRDA), financé par l’Union Européenne à travers le Programme Amélioration de la Sécurité Alimentaire et des Revenus Agricoles (ASARA) et exécuté par CARE International, est opérationnel depuis le 06 Janvier 2014. Son objectif principal réside dans la réponse aux besoins des Exploitations Agricoles Familiales (EAF) où au moins 30% de ces EAF sont gérées par des femmes. Les actions s’attèlent à parvenir aux quatre résultats attendus, à savoir : (i) Les instances du FRDA sont renouvelées et renforcées. (ii) Les outils définissant le cadre d’intervention sont améliorés. (iii) Le FRDA finance les services aux EAF et acteurs du développement agricole. (iv) Les enseignements sont capitalisés. Rapport Narratif Renforcement des Actions de Nutrition- Actions Integrees de Nutrition et Aliemntation (RAN-AINA)
Ce rapport expose les réalisations du projet RAN‐AINA durant le premier semestre de la troisième année de mise en œuvre c’est‐à‐dire de janvier à juin de l’année 2017. Le projet RAN‐AINA était élaboré pour renforcer les actions en Nutrition de AINA, mais ce premier semestre est celui au cours duquel RAN‐AINA s’est retrouvé « seul » sur terrain vu que la mise en œuvre de AINA par CARE s’est arrêtée le 31 décembre 2016. Ce premier semestre mesure ainsi les retombées des actions des deux projets au sein de la population cible des 88 Fokontany d’intervention. En considérant l’évolution du Taux d’insuffisance Pondéral (TIP) sur les premiers semestres des années 2016 et 2017, représentée par le graphique suivant, l’effet de l’adoption des bonnes pratiques nutritionnelles et d’hygiène diffusées se fait ressentir au sein de la communauté. Ce taux a accusé une baisse moyenne de 15 points entre les deux périodes.

Projet Assainissement Innovant en milieu Urbain (PAIU)
Le projet a comme objectif général « d’améliorer les conditions de vie et sanitaire des populations vulnérables vivant dans la commune urbaine d’Antananarivo. Un meilleur accès à des facilités sanitaires de gestion de déchets et de gestion de l’eau, associé à un comportement collectif et individuel adéquat contribue à la réduction des maladies d’origine hydrique, notamment chez les enfants en bas âge ».

Le Projet d’Assainissement Innovant en milieu Urbain (projet PAIU ou FAMAFA (Fanatsaràna ny Faripiainan’ny Mponina Andrenivohitra amin’ny Fandrindràna ny Fahadiovana sy Fidiovana) vise à contribuer à l’amélioration des conditions de vie et sanitaires des populations vulnérables dans la commune d’Antananarivo.

Rapport Annuel pour le Project FANAMBY
Cette troisième année a été pour le projet FANAMBY une période de consolidation et de maturation des structures mises en place, en vue de l’appropriation par les bénéficiaires et de leur autonomisation dans une perspective de pérennisation des acquis. La stratégie de retrait du projet a été déclenchée avec la tenue du premier atelier de transfert de compétence à la Direction Régionale de l’Education Nationale et à la CiSco. Shelter Support for the Affected Population of Cyclone ENAWO
Report of the three month shelter emergency response. On Tuesday, March 7, 2017, tropical cyclone Enawo struck the northeast coast of Madagascar, hitting land in the town of Ampahana, 20 kilometers north to the district of Antalaha. The cyclone of Category 4 on the Saffir-Simpson scale (with a total of five categories) hit the island, with winds blowing in gusts up to 300 km/h. Local authorities and humanitarian organizations present in the country, including CARE, conducted an overflight of the affected areas, particularly in the SAVA and Analanjorofo regions. Read More...
ENAWO Response Narrative Report
On 7 March 2017, the tropical cyclone ENAWO affected the north-east coast of Madagascar in the village of Ampahana, 20 km to the north of the district of Antalaha. Classified in category 4, it struck the island with an average wind of up to 203 km/h and gusts of 300 km/h. It then crossed Madagascar before exiting to the south, by joining the Indian Ocean on 9 March 2017 (see map trajectory). ENAWO brought violent winds and torrential rains that have caused severe losses and damage. The wind and the generalized floods have resulted in the destruction of shelters, roads and other infrastructure, as well as of agricultural crops. Project to Strengthen the Most flood-Vulnerable Communities of the Urban Commune ODA Final Report
Final 29 page report at the end of the project’s 18 months of intervention, the completion rate for the activities planned exceeded 95%. Sensitization using radio and TV spots were the only activities that were not 100% completed, as they had to wait for the National DRR Communication Strategy developed by BNGRC1 that was finalized only this year.
