(88 pages) Le projet RAN-AINA financé par l’Union Européenne vise à contribuer à l’amélioration de l’état nutritionnel d’au moins 17 000 enfants de moins de cinq ans (dont 51% filles) et de 7 000 femmes allaitantes et enceintes dans 88 Fokontany du District d’Amboasary Atsimo. La durée de mise en oeuvre est de 3 ans, de décembre 2014 à décembre 2017. Le projet a deux objectifs spécifiques :
(i) Améliorer les pratiques nutritionnelles d’hygiène et sanitaire des 18000 ménages en faveur des enfants de moins de cinq ans, et
(ii) Améliorer la collaboration entre les centres de santé et les acteurs communautaires en matière de nutrition. Read More...

Sabal Midterm Evaluation Report

The goal of the Sabal project is to increase the resilience and food security of targeted vulnerable populations in Nepal. The project, funded by USAID's Food For Peace from 2014-19, commenced in 2014 and is scheduled to end 2019. CARE is one of 7 technical partners and 17 local NGO implementing partners. Save the Children is the overall program leader and primarily responsible for implementation.

The project has three primary “purposes”: 1) livelihoods, 2) health and nutrition, and 3) disaster risk reduction/climate change adaptation (DRR/CCA), as well as a cross-cutting component for gender and social inclusion. Under each design element are sub-purposes and accompanying activities that are meant to achieve sub-purpose goals but also to contribute to cross-purpose outcomes, as part of the desired integration strategy. SHOUHARDO III Mid Term Summary

recommendations for the remaining life of the program to increase effectiveness in achieving sustainable impact and increase efficiency in use of resources. The MTE was planned and implemented over the period from late October 2017, through mid-June, 2018, with information gathering and preliminary analysis undertaken in Bangladesh from February 12 through March 12. The SHOUHARDO III Program is being implemented in 947 villages in 115 unions in 23 upazilas in 8 districts1 in northern Bangladesh. The goal of the program is to achieve improved gender equitable food and nutrition security and resilience for vulnerable people living in the flood-prone Char and Haor Regions of Bangladesh by 2020. The program is specifically targeting people defined by their communities as poor or extreme poor (PEP), expecting to have lasting impact by the end of its life on around 675,000 persons. The overall program value is USD 80 million3 from the United States Government with a complementary funding of USD 7,707,490 million from the Government of Bangladesh (GoB). Rapid Gender Analysis – SNNP Region Ethiopia and Gedeo Crisis Response

As of July 14, conflict between Guji Oromo and Gedeo communities displaced over 1 million people (82 per cent in Gedeo; 19 per cent West Guji zones). Internally displaced people (IDPs) stay in cramped public buildings and spontaneous IDP sites while other live with host communities. This massive and sudden population displacement prompted CARE Ethiopia to expand its emergency programme in the South Nation, Nationalities People Region (SNNPR). Consistent with its focus on gender equality, CARE initiated a rapid gender analysis (RGA) to provide gendered data on needs, power relations, access and controls, risks and coping strategies of displaced women, men, boys and girls affected by the conflict.

An RGA mission led by CARE International Rapid Response Team Gender Specialist took place in Dilla town, Gedeb and Yirgachafe woredas (administrative unit in Ethiopia) between 25 and 31 July. Read More...

Impacto de una intervención en seguridad alimentaria. Evaluación final del Programa REDESA

El Programa Redes Sostenibles para la Seguridad Alimentaria – REDESA, ejecutado por CARE Perú y financiado por la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional – USAID, concluyó sus actividades después de cinco años, con evidentes logros y beneficios para las 58 570 familias pobres de 1 854 comunidades en 125 distritos de Ancash, Apurímac, Ayacucho, Cajamarca, Huancavelica y Puno. REDESA organizó su intervención alrededor del aumento sostenido de los ingresos familiares y de la mejora de las condiciones de salud, nutrición e higiene de las familias, para contribuir con la meta de reducir la desnutrición crónica de niños y niñas menores de tres años.

El Programa REDESA sustentó su intervención en una lógica integral de generación de ingresos sostenibles y de mejora de las condiciones de salud, con el soporte transversal de alianzas y asocios estratégicos con las instituciones y organizaciones locales públicas, privadas y de la sociedad civil. De esta manera, se constituye en un modelo integral experimental que ofrece los elementos y evidencias validadas para ser tomado en cuenta en el diseño e implementación de estrategias y acciones para la lucha contra la desnutrición crónica en el Perú. FINAL REPORT ENDLINE SURVEY: WARUNG ANAK SEHAT (WAS) PROGRAM

The WAS program scheme is originally conceptualized in 2011 by a national food company with a non-government organization as the local partner. Since 2016, CARE is responsible as the local partner for the initiation or continuation of Warung Anak Sehat in 350 schools across 4 different locations in Indonesia. In several areas, Warung Anak Sehat was first initiated by other organization and then continued by CARE. The WAS scheme consists of establishment of food kiosks which provides healthy food inside or outside schools. Integrated Community Development Project Endline Evaluation

The main conclusion of this evaluation is that ICDP is making a significant and tangible contribution to improving the well-being of disadvantaged communities living in remote areas of PNG. Communities, Ward Development Committee (WDC) members, LLGs and District authorities are, in general, highly appreciative of the work that ICDP is supporting. It is a highly valued investment, is achieving tangible results, and the work should continue to be supported (taking into account lessons learned so far, including the recommendations contained in this evaluation report).
