LIVELIHOOD BASELINE ASSESSMENT REPORT SINJAR DISTRICT
CARE Iraq with support from the Australian Department of Home Affairs’ (DHA) will contribute to CARE’s work on enabling internally displaced people (IDPs), returnees and host communities, particularly the vulnerable youth, ISIL survivors and female headed households (FHHs) in Sinjar Mountain and Sinjar Town, Ninewa governorate of Iraq, to rebuild their lives through a sustainable livelihood program.
The purpose of this baseline was to provide an information base on which to monitor and assess an activity’s progress and effectiveness during implementation and after the implementation. The objective of the baseline was to:
- To consolidate information in relation to livelihood indicators, gender inequality and information on existing protection risks;
- To identify the major risk factors influencing the vulnerability of the population within the Livelihood system and their coping strategies.
- To identify what is the structure of the market system, and how has it been impacted by the conflict (how is the current situation compared to the pre-conflict one)? How do target groups engage in the system?
- What are the opportunities and inefficiencies in the current market system enabling or hindering the ability of target groups to sustain their livelihoods?
- To streamline activities according to the context based on findings from the baseline.
- To identify the specific livelihood needs of the IDPs, returnees and host communities in Sinjar district
- To assess the availability of livelihood opportunities in assessed areas.
- To identify gaps and propose interventions to improve the level of access to income generating activities

BASELINE STUDY REPORT: AGRO-SOURCE: LAST-MILE AGRICULTURAL INPUT SUPPLY SYSTEMS
The Agro-Source project in Ghana is a two and half (2½) year project (July 2018 to December 2020). The overall goal of the Agro-Source project is to improve the productivity of 30,000 smallholder women farmers in five (5) districts i.e. Garu, Tempane, Bawku West, Lambussie-Karni and Nandom in the Upper East and West regions of Ghana through increased availability, access and use of good quality agricultural inputs by 2020.
The baseline study was to establish a benchmark against which to measure the progress and achievements of the project. It was to generate: information on the current status on the availability of quality agro-inputs in the target locations and information regarding smallholder women farmers’ access to and utilization of agro-inputs to improve their productivity.

Up-Scaling Community Resilience through Ecosystem-based Disaster Risk Reduction (Eco-DRR) Project: Baseline Report
The Ecosystem based Disaster Risk Reduction project will contribute to addressing the current challenges through a combination of activities to increase the ability of communities to anticipate, absorb, adapt, and transform towards the impact of hazards such as drought and floods, enhance the capacity of district local governments, CSOs and the private sector to improve, inclusive and effective multi-stakeholder governance at catchment level to foster sustainable development that takes a landscape approach, is risk-informed and eco-sensitive.
The study objectives were to determine the baseline status on selected outcome and output indicators as established in the ECO DRR PME plan, and to provide specific and achievable recommendations on possible improvement.

BASELINE SURVEY REPORT FOR ACCESS PROTECTION EMPOWERMENT ACCOUNTABILITY AND LEADERSHIP (APEAL) PROJECT
APEAL Project Overview: APEAL project was designed to deliver a comprehensive, evidence-based and people-centred Protection & Gender-Based Violence (GBV) sector response for recent and newly-arrived refugees from DRC settling in Western Uganda. The one year project is implementing a harmonized intervention package of targeted protection and GBV life-saving assistance with a particular focus on extremely vulnerable individuals.

PROGRAMME DE GESTION EQUITABLE DES RESSOURCES NATURELLES ET DE RENFORCEMENT DE LA SOCIETE CIVILE: PROGRESS III
La troisième phase du Programme de Gestion Equitable des Ressources Naturelles et de Renforcement de la Société civile au Niger, PROGRESIII/JIMIRI financée par CARE Danemark, intègre les leçons et bonnes pratiques de PROGRES II et prend en compte les évolutions des approches et concepts de développement ainsi que les évolutions de contextes internes et externes du Niger, de CARE et des bailleurs institutionnels comme DANIDA. Elle met l’accent sur le pastoralisme à travers le renforcement de société civile pastorale, le plaidoyer, la résilience, le genre et la jeunesse liée aux aspects de migration.
Ce programme contribuera aux objectifs de la stratégie 2020 de CARE, aux ODD et de plan stratégique pluriannuel de CARE Niger. Baseline Study of GAC Project WASH Recovery Assistance to Earthquake- Affected Communities of Dhading and Sindhupalchowk, Nepal
CARE Nepal is implementing the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) funded project Wash Recovery Assistance To Earthquake-Affected Communities of Dhading and Sindhupalchowk form February 7, 2017. The goal of the project is to see improved well-being and resilience of women, men, girls and boys in targeted earthquake-affected areas of Nepal. A baseline study was conducted in order to collect baseline data for the logical model based on the indicators set in the Performance Measurement Framework (PMF) which will guide to set forth the project target and against which the success can be measured at the end-line.
The baseline survey included both quantitative and qualitative methods. Field data were collected during 17th to 25th September, 2017. Hamenus Mortalidade no Risku ba Inan (HAMORIS – 2017-2021) BASELINE CI Timor-Leste
The HAMORIS project is managed and implemented by Care International Timor-Leste (CITL) and funded by the Australian aid program. The HAMORIS project goal is to contribute to lasting reductions in maternal mortality and morbidity by increasing the number of women in targeted communities utilizing appropriate and quality Sexual, Reproductive Maternal Health and Rights (SRMHR) services. The project aims to enable this by improving gender relations at the family and community level. HAMORIS started in July 2017 and has been extended to June 2022.
The baseline data has been collected to provide the team and key stakeholders to the project with a clear understanding of context at the initiation of the project. It will help the team assess changes in knowledge, attitudes and practice of participants and their approach to SRMHR services and changes in gender relations, social and power norms of participants and within the broader community. Baseline Study Report KHUSHAAL PROJECT 2019
CARE India in partnership with Alstom Foundation is implementing socio-developmental projects in 7 villages of District Madhepura, Bihar. Project Khushhaal is one among the many initiatives being undertaken in the identified villages. It aims to enhance the capabilities of women and girls (age 12 years and above) and youth in the age group of 18-35 years for resilient livelihoods and improved health outcomes through a participatory process.
The project aims to empower 1500 individuals (women and girls) from these 7 villages (Tuniyahi Uttarwadi, Tuniyahi Dakshinwadi, LakshmiRampur Chakla Uttarwadi, LakshmiRampur Chakla Dakshinwadi, Ganeshsthan, Shreepur Utarwadi and Shreepur Dakshinwadi) with better health and hygiene practices and have better preparedness for gainful employment opportunities
The study focused at 5 specific areas
1. Menstrual Hygiene related status and challenges
2. Health and Hygiene related situation in young Girls, Pregnant and Lactating women
3. Work and Communication Skills status of Adolescents and Youth
