COMMUNICATION FOR EDUCATION AND IMPROVED SCHOOL GOVERNANCE
The present report describes an internal assessment of the impact of the Communication for Education Project (C4E) implemented by CARE in Ratanak Kiri and Mondulkiri Provinces. Under the project, a communication for development campaign was designed by CARE, in collaboration with UNICEF, MoEYS/PED and local government counterparts, to promote better awareness and positive attitudinal changes toward values of education to increase community demand for good quality education among parents, caregivers and community members. The campaign also sought to strengthen perceptions of stakeholders’ role in supporting inclusive learning environments for all children at school. The communication channels used by the campaign included sound recordings (e.g., radio, public announcements, etc.), posters, social media, and other forms of communication. In technical terms, the project focuses on the role of what are known as District-based Training and Monitoring Teams (DTMT1) and School Support Committees (SSCs) and their mandate to promote strengthened demand for inclusive quality education among community members and other stakeholders. Members of the School Support Committees (SSCs) led the campaign to improve attitudes and behaviors as these relate to education. Intervención en educación sexual integral (ESI) y empoderamiento de niñas y adolescentes en Piura-Línea de Base
El presente documento contiene los resultados de la línea de base del proyecto “Intervención en educación sexual integral (ESI) y empoderamiento de niñas y adolescentes en Piura” aplicado en la provincia de Morropón, Piura. Este proyecto fue implementado en tres instituciones educativas de la zona: IIEE 14618, IIEE 14619, José Pintado Berrú. El documento se divide en tres partes. En la primera, se presentan los objetivos del estudio y el alcance de este. En la segunda, los pasos metodológicos necesarios para cumplir con los objetivos. En la tercera, los resultados de los indicadores de propósito, resultados y productos. Finalmente, la última parte contienen las
conclusiones y recomendaciones de la implementación del proyecto.
En cuanto a los indicadores de propósito, se puede decir que: i) se registraron 44 niñas y adolescentes embarazadas en el distrito de Chulucanas; en el C.P. Yapatera se identificaron 3 adolescentes en situación de embarazo, ii) el Índice de igualdad de género promedio ponderado general es de 2.35 (en una escala de 0 a 4), y iii) un 23.84% de las niñas y adolescentes obtuvieron un puntaje de 3 a 4 puntos (en una escala de 0 a 4) en el índice de educación sexual integral y normas sociales de género. VSLA By the Numbers: A Comprehensive Analysis of the Impact and ROI of VSLAs
Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs) have been a foundational programmatic approach at CARE since 1991. Since then, CARE has helped over 13.7 million people join savings groups. The savings group model has been adopted and adapted by a variety of organizations globally. Through this report, we will examine the social and financial effects and returns of savings groups as well as how groups affected members’ resilience to COVID-19. The results gave an overview of the financial return on investment (ROI), group economic outcomes, savings groups costs, and individual and household effects for savings groups both inside and outside of CARE.
In order to calculate a return on investment, the financial benefit for a typical participant over three years was considered as well as the financial benefits for a replicated VSLA for two years related to the cost that the donor/implementer spends to set up and oversee the VSLA for its first cycle. Using internal CARE data such as budgets, evaluation, and impact reports, the average ROI of costs to establish a saving group was between 7:1 and 20:1. For every $1 invested by CARE, there is evidence for the savings of a typical VSLA participant to increase between $7 and $20. For the average VSLA participant, median income increased by $9.35 (+/- $0.55 USD) within the first year of joining the group for each $1 USD invested. Additionally, average income increased by $18.85 (+/-$1.15 USD) within five years of each $1 USD invested. Using industry data and internal CARE data, this analysis showed that for every $250 USD invested three net new children attended school.
The financial effect of a VSLA appears to outlast the formal lifecycle of the group. Evaluation of VSLAs as they phased out found that the return on savings (ROS) was 50% (+/-10%) during the supported formal lifecycle of the group and decreased to around 35% (+/-19%) after the VSLA is phased out. However, the positive outcomes and impact of participating in VSLAs continue even after project phase out. Members continue saving and getting benefits. Share value even increase for 57% (+/-13%) of groups in the available data.

A Study Report on the Link Between Land Use Planning and Rural Economic Growth through Mobile Applications in the Sagcot Area: A Case Study of Iringa Rural and Kilolo Districts
his study investigated ways in which mobile applications can best be used to link village land use planning and village economic growth so that CARE and its partners will more effectively engage key stakeholders in supporting smallholder farmers to find better ways of using their land to improve their economic wellbeing. This is because, after more than a decade of advocating for the land rights of smallholder farmers, CARE Tanzania is currently looking at how best village land use planning can, in addition to demarcation of village land and issuance of certificates of customary rights of occupancy (CCROs), help to transform the lives of those depending on land as a means of livelihood or identity.
More specifically, this study (a) assessed the extent to which village land use planning in Tanzania improves rural economy in general and the economic wellbeing of smallholder farmers in Tanzania; (b) identified and analyzed the best ways in which mobile applications can be used to link land use planning with rural economy and economic wellbeing of smallholder farmers; and (c) identified and analyzed economic, social, environmental and political factors which help or hinder smallholder farmers with formalized land rights, from improving their economic wellbeing. Advocacy and Influencing Impact Reporting Tool ILO
This tool has been developed to gather further information and evidence on CARE’s advocacy or influencing win. At CARE, advocacy is defined as “the deliberate process of influencing those who make decisions about developing, changing and implementing policies to reduce poverty and achieve social justice.1” Influencing and advocacy can go beyond government policies, it can include influencing governments, donors or NGOs to adopt a CARE program model or influencing the private sector to change their company policies or operating practices.

Résultat 1 : La société civile est redynamisée via la structuration les Associations Villageoises d'Epargne Crédit (AVEC) en fédérations et le renforcement des capacités de leurs membres.
Le mouvement associatif féminin occupe un espace politique indéniable et compte un nombre important ’organisations faîtières. CARE International au Mali a mis en place plus d’une cinquantaine de réseaux villageois et une trentaine de réseaux communaux dans les régions de Ségou et Mopti. Les capacités de ces réseaux MJT ont été enforcés sur les techniques de plaidoyer et de négociation sociale, de leadership, de la planification, le suivi et la réponse à la crise alimentaire, etc.
Dans les sept communes enquêtées sur les 14, on compte 69 conseillères communales, soit 26% des élus communaux. Dix-huit (18%) des femmes, membres d’un parti politique, estiment être en mesure d’influencer les décisions au niveau de la communauté et non au niveau régional ou national.
Neuf personnes sur dix (9/10) des enquêtées font partie d’une association communautaire de base dont la plupart sont membres des groupements MJT créer par CARE MALI, soit 84%. La proportion des femmes enquêtées qui sont membre d’un organe décisionnel au niveau des collectivités territoriales et qui estime être capable d’influencer les décisions au sein de la communauté est de 48%. En effet, 26% affirment pouvoir influencer beaucoup les décisions au sein de la communauté, 19% modérément et 2% estiment qu’elles n’exercent aucune influence sur les décisions prises au sein de la communauté. exploring mass media exposure and preference among adolescents,
* assess menstrual hygiene practices among adolescents,
